Welcome to
Skinny Sunday!
I haven't really talked a lot about the fact that I'm a "Lifer"....
(aka "Lifetime" member of Weight Watchers)
The focus of my blog is afterall....
Quilting & Fun!
But I have toyed with the idea for a while now about sharing some of my favorite
"skinny recipes"
you know...the ones that actually taste GOOD!
And you have to admit it...good food IS Fun!
I don't promise to post every Sunday...
but I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
I won't go into my weight loss/gain history....
suffice it to say...
'been there....done that....many times over'
Now I'm pretty happy with 70 pounds behind me
(oh wait...they are not "Behind" me any more - Thank Goodness they are GONE!
But it's still One Day At A Time!)
Perhaps I'll share my story one of these days....
But for now....
My new favorite discovery....
The REAL reason I eat those wonderful raw crunchy veggies is because.....
My recipe:
1 Cup no fat Greek Yogurt (yes, I admit, I'm in love with "Fage")
+
1 Tablespoon ranch dressing mix (yes, I admit...my spoon heap-eth over)
Mix well....Chill (the longer the better)... DIP!
1/2 Cup as prepared above = 2 points plus
The Whole Cup = 4 points plus
(3 for the 'gurt + 1 for the mix when you calculate it the WW way)
"Points Plus" is WW lingo...if you are a WW...you know what it means...
if you're not....well....let's just say 2-4 pp of pure dippin' pleasure
makes this little mouse smile!
I was thrilled to find the HUGE 16oz container of Hidden Valley Ranch mix
at our local BJ's Wholesale Club today.
The cost was wayyyyy better than buying individual pkts.
Nope...I'm not getting paid to promote anything here...
and yes, I've tried another 'brand that shall remain unnamed'
because it saved a few pennies...
and left a 'get what you paid for' aftertaste...

know what I mean?
Once our jar of mix is used up
(which shouldn't take long...major Skinny Dippin' planned in yee ole mouse house)
I think I might try to make my own ranch seasoning blend...
Just tonight I found a great recipe from "Gimme Some Oven"
Do you have some favorite skinny recipes, websites, tips???
Please share!
Let me hear from you!!!
And now....we return to our previously scheduled evening of quilting....
Have a great week everyone!
now this sounds good, and i love veggies. however i have only tried chobani flavored greek yogurt (ick hated the after taste) so i might have to give this a try , especially with easter coming and i always have to bring the salad lol
ReplyDeleteand i am new again to ww and LOVING it! i joined about 7 years ago but really was not into it nor cared. this time it is different...it is a way of life for me. love you lynn! xoxox
Oh thank you for sharing this. I am a WW and trying to get back to LT. The light and fit greek yogurt w/fruit is 2 plus points and I dip apple pieces in it to make a wonderful snack at 2 pp. Also...instagram has lots of photos by those following WW....check out all the hashtags related to WW.
ReplyDeleteThanks for you recipe, friend! I haven't made this dip before and I am in love with Fage brand. I have it chillin' in the frig as we speak. Can't wait to give it a try :) I also like Caryl's idea of checking out some of the online sites! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a tasty dip ... I'm going to have to try it. There are three online websites I like for WW recipes, Skinnytaste, emilybites and skinnykitchen. Of course add the dot com to get there. ; ) Would love to see more of your recipes.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so good. I think I'll try it....it's a simple recipe...I can do that !
ReplyDeleteI've made this and it's delicious! A favorite snack for me is a sort of fake ice cream sandwich - 2 graham crackers with a T of fat free cool whip, then frozen. The crackers are 2 PP and the cool whip is free and in the middle of the afternoon one of these are a great pick me up! blessings, marlene
